Heidi Shuler, MA, LPC, NCC
Hi, I’m Heidi!
I am deeply passionate about helping individuals recognize, believe in, and embrace their intrinsic self-worth. There is so much power in feeling truly seen, heard, and understood, and that is something I want you to experience every time we meet.
I believe that no one is broken or needs to be "fixed." However, I also understand that we can become wounded along the way. Sometimes the ways we learned to protect ourselves or navigate difficult experiences no longer serve us well. I view it as a privilege to walk alongside you through these difficult times, helping you understand what is happening beneath the surface, heal from what has wounded you, and reconnect with your own inner strength.
My goal is to help you develop the awareness, resilience, and tools you need to cultivate a life that feels meaningful, vibrant, and deeply satisfying—the life you desire.
EDUCATION & CREDENTIALS
BS in Marriage and Family Studies (2022)

Areas of Focus
I work with individuals and couples experiencing a variety of concerns, including:
• Trauma and PTSD
• Anxiety and chronic stress
• Depression
• Self-esteem and self-worth
• Marriage and relationship difficulties
• Grief and loss
• Codependency and people-pleasing
• Anger and emotional regulation
• Stress management
• Life transitions and personal growth
• Difficulty establishing or maintaining healthy boundaries
I also offer premarital counseling through the SYMBIS framework, career counseling, and personality profiling to help clients better understand themselves, their relationships, and the decisions they make.
My Approach
I believe therapy is most effective when it is individualized to the person sitting in front of me. I draw from several therapeutic approaches and integrate them according to each client's needs and goals.
My current training and areas of clinical focus include:
• Internal Family Systems (IFS) — exploring the different thoughts, emotions, and protective patterns that influence how we respond to ourselves and others
• Somatic Work — developing awareness of the connection between emotional experiences, the body, and the nervous system
• Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) — developing psychological flexibility and learning to move toward the values and relationships that matter most
• Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) — an evidence-based approach that can help clients process distressing experiences and reduce the emotional impact of difficult memories
• Gottman Method Couples Therapy — helping couples understand relationship patterns, strengthen connection, and navigate conflict more effectively
• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — identifying and changing patterns of thinking and behavior that contribute to emotional distress
• SYMBIS Facilitator — premarital counseling designed to help couples understand their strengths, differences, and potential areas of challenge before marriage
I am particularly interested in helping clients understand the patterns underneath their behaviors and emotional responses. Sometimes knowing what we are doing isn't enough; we need to understand why we are doing it before meaningful change can occur.
Who I Work With
I provide individual therapy for clients ages 15 and older as well as couples counseling. I offer in-person appointments, evening appointments, and telehealth services through Wellness Associates in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
Whether you are struggling with anxiety, processing something painful from your past, navigating a difficult relationship, working on boundaries, or simply feeling like you are no longer living the life you want, therapy can provide a place to slow down, understand yourself more deeply, and begin moving in a different direction.
Healthy Boundaries Group
I also facilitate Healthy Boundaries for an Empowered Life, a six-week group designed to help participants develop healthier boundaries, understand the beliefs and patterns that make boundaries difficult, and learn to communicate their needs with greater confidence and clarity.
The group is offered throughout the year. Contact Wellness Associates for information about upcoming groups.
If you're ready to begin your journey toward healing, greater self-understanding, and meaningful growth, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
